Christoph Altstaedt makes his debut for Glyndebourne Opera this week when he conducts their critically acclaimed production of Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio, directed by David McVicar.
The performances in summer 2015 were described by The Guardian as “Mesmerising, sensitive, at times troublingly erotic, the whole thing forces us to rethink a remarkable work. Outstanding.” This run opens on 11 October at Glyndebourne Opera House and will then be toured around the UK.
Altstaedt performs Mozart again later this season when he makes his debut with Theater Basel, conducting a new production of The Magic Flute featuring Anna Gillingham from December 2015.
