On February 28th, for the third time, Mihhail Gerts conducted the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra in an ambitious program. The heart of that Moscow hall, that carries Svetlaonv’s name, beat to the rhythms of two of Mendelssohn’s works : the overture Ruy Blas and the Hebrides, as well as the First Piano Concerto. The evening concluded in a climax of 4 overtures from Wagner operas, including Tannhaüser and Lohengrin, performed to an enthusiastic audience.
