In June, Debora Waldman dedicated herself to projects for youth. First on June 26th, she conducted the DEMOS Orchestra at the Paris Philharmonic. This is a project to initiate 7 to 14 years old children in classic music, without the need for any prior special musical education. You can see some excerpts here.
Then on June 29th, she was the Artistic Director of a world première of a new interpretation of Cinderella at the Limoges Opera (France). The music for the new production, called De Cendre et d’Or is written by the French composer Sally Galet on the libretto (collected from the children) by Thomas Gornet. The children also participated in the production as singers and actors. You can see an excerpt here.
