Kakhi Solomnishvili is Georgian Conductor, based in Tbilisi. His musical career began with being a pianist and, as a pianist, he actively participated in various concerts and festivals. In 2007 he passed exams at the Faculty of Conducting of the Tbilisi State Conservatory, of which he graduated in 2013 with a Master’s degree.
In parallel to his studies, he attended the Opera and Symphony Conducting Classes given by maestro Gianluca Marciano, Principal Conductor at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In 2011, he became his Assistant Conductor. In 2014, Kakhi took the position of Conductor of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. Since 2016 he has been actively collaborating with the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and has been its Resident Conductor from 2017.
In 2017, Kakhi was awarded the Tsinandali Award in music. He has participated in many international projects, alongside with Anita Rachvelishvili, Lisa Batiashvili, Nino Machaidze, Gia Gagnidze, Lukas Vondracek, Iano Tamar, Katie Melua, Nino Ananiashvili and others. In 2021, he was Assistant Conductor of the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia. He has worked with the Polish Baltic Frédéric Chopin Philharmonic Orchestra as well as various festivals and youth orchestras.
As a Resident Conductor of the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra, Conductor of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre and Assistant Conductor of the Tsinandali Festival, Kakhi assisted conductors: Gianandrea Noseda, Lahav Shani, Christoph Eschenbach, Paolo Arrivabeni, Daniel Oren, José Luis Gomes, Dmitri Jurowski, Laurent Petitgirard and others.
